The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

On Friday 3rd June, The Lions Club of New Milton hosted and organised New Milton's Platinum Jubilee Event on our Recreation Ground.  This event has been hailed by many as the best-ever community event held on the 'Rec' and in our own view was certainly the best attended ever.

View some photographs of the event, including the Spitfire Fly Past.

With one man every hour dying from prostate cancer and 40,000 new cases every year and no national screening available, we aim to provide a PSA blood test to as many men 40+. It's well proven that early detection and treatment may vastly increase chances of survival.

Based on the success of our 2019 Prostate Cancer Awareness day, which due to Covid-19 we are unable to repeat at this time, The Lions Club of New Milton are working in partnership with the Graham Fulford Trust to facilitate offering men a simple finger prick test that can be done at home.

The home testing kits are sent to your home address, you take a blood sample following the simple instructions provided, then return it to a specified Laboratory for processing and within a few days you will learn the results and get advice if any further action is recommended.

Our Club's Geographic Area

The Lions Club of New Milton this year celebrates it's Golden Anniversary and despite the current Covid-19 pandemic, continues to be a very prominent club in the New Forest, having recently been joined by members from the Lymington and Brockenhurst Club, which recently ceased operating.

To the North we are bounded by Lions Clubs in Ringwood and Fordingbridge and to the East by the Romsey & Waterside Clubs and so Lions continues to be a powerful force in The New Forest, supporting local charitable and community causes and global projects in diverse geographic areas.

May 2022

We are pleased to confirm that we have recently returned to our normal meeting programme of the Second and Fourth Mondays of each Month - meeting as we have in the past at the New Milton Rugby Club in Norman's Way, Ashley, New Milton, BH25 5FN

During April, the Lions were once again back in action with the first event on New Milton's Recreation Ground for almost 3 years. The Lion's Easter Extravaganza was also attended by one of the largest crowds at a Major Lions event for many years and it appeared that everyone enjoyed their afternoon

Now, the Lions Club of New Milton has the responsibility of facilitating New Milton's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations on Friday 3rd June between Noon and 7:00 p.m.  Highlights of the afternoon will be a Fly-Past by a Spitfire of The RAF Memorial Flight and a Beacon Lighting Ceremony identical to those being held in over 2,300 towns across the country during this Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend.  This event is being promoted via the New Milton Community Website at

Around the United Kingdom

There are over 1,000 Lions Clubs across  the United Kingdom encompassing some 18,000 members and almost 40% of those members are Ladies.

Whenever there is a large event in a Community, you will likely find Lions are involved in some way.

The most memorable fact about Lions Clubs is that every penny we collect through fund-raising goes direct to support good causes.

Our administration costs are paid for by members’ annual subscriptions.

Across the World

When it comes to meeting challenges, our response is simple: We serve.

In over 200 countries, in hospitals and seniors centres, in regions battered by natural disaster, in schools and eyeglass recycling centres, Lions are doing community voluntary work, helping, leading, planning and supporting. Because we're local, we can serve the unique needs of the communities we live in. And because we're global, we can address challenges that go beyond borders.
