Almost 1,000 Lions Clubs in the United Kingdom.

Average age of membership is calculated as 53 years young.
Wherever you live, work or travel, you are likely to come across members of Lions Clubs and the projects we support. Lions are ordinary people who do extraordinary things to help others and support good causes.Globally we have more volunteers in more places than any other service club organisation. We love to help others and make things happen.
Every Lions Club supports a range of good causes and projects in its geographic area. Every day Lions are having fun by organising remarkable and memorable fundraising activities.
Every year in Europe alone, Lions Club members volunteer around 6 million hours of service and raise £88 million to support local communities.
The most memorable fact about Lions Clubs is that every penny we collect through fund-raising goes direct to support good causes. Our administration costs are paid for by members’ subscriptions.
Lions are able to react quickly to support local communities whenever natural disaster strikes. Our humanitarian help is provided by local Lions who volunteer their support on the ground – backed by grants from the Lions Clubs International Foundation and fund-raising by Lions Clubs across the world. For example, in 2014, Lions Clubs throughout the British Isles and Ireland pledged £200,000 to provide vital water filtration systems for local communities affected by the disaster caused by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
And there are many more examples of similar help being provided by Lions in an Emergency.
We respond to local needs – and changing circumstances. Helping to support those experiencing financial hardship in recent years, Lions Clubs have organised job fairs, set up food banks and managed charity shops and stalls.
