and the work that it does in the local community and beyond and hear
about our plans for Christmas in New Milton, with a Christmas Market on
Saturday 1st November and our famous Christmas Festival,
Parade and Lights Switch-On being held on the
29th November. Perhaps pick up a Message in a Bottle
-a Lions service designed to help the emergency services in the event of
a person being taken ill.

Private Sid Machin – Local Area Chindit
Centenarian – Attending the VJ80 Brief Ceremonial and assisting with the
Lighting of a Peace Beacon and Peace Lamp.
Piper will introduce the ceremonial and it will conclude with the
Choir singing ‘I Vow to Thee My Country’ by the Wavelength A Cappella
Choir.
· The Headline Act on the Performance Pavilion will be the Band of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary – paying a return visit to New Milton after a highly successful Concert last year for the Poppy Appeal 2024.
· The Fifinellas will also be paying a return visit – after their performance at the VE80 Event in May. Back by popular demand – and they will be accompanied by local group – ‘Now that’s Jive’
· The Friends of New Milton Station will be holding the second day of their Public Consultation are inviting the community to comment on the plans to preserve and restore No.1 New Milton, the Station Master’s House, and the associated building on the southside platform.
· There will be the usual Hot Food Barbeque, Refreshments provided by the Lions Ladies including Cream Teas and a fully licenced Bar in a Converted Fire Engine called ‘Dennis’
· Over 40 Stalls, including children’s and adult games from the RNLI, the Lions Club Toy Stall with scores of cuddly toys.
· The New Milton Men’s Shed will once again be displaying a wide range of wooden items for sale and inviting commissions from the public for items not currently in their range.
· The local Freemasons will be illustrating what they do in our local Community.
·
There will be many community groups
including Neighbourcare who are seeking more Drivers to help run their
services, the Royal British Legion whose local Branch has recently
restarted and The British Heart Foundation – renowned for their
excellent shop in Station Road.
In addition to cars from Three Counties Vintage & Classic Car Club, we are pleased to invite local owners of suitable vehicles to bring their Cars to the VJ80 Event. The only rule, is that all cars must arrive before 10:30 a.m. and no cars are allowed to leave the Recreation Ground until 4:00 p.m. Please click below to let us know you will be attending :-
